Do not give up your dream

It takes Kevin Costner 15 years to finally make some big impact. In 1993, he procured the technology transfered from department of Energy’s Idaho National Laboratory.  The technology is about the liquid centrifugation. For over 15 years, he has invested over 20 million dollars on the founded company, Costner Industries (CINC).  In the past 15 years, CINC has manufactured 8 types of liquid centrifugation machine,  These 8 machines can work with flow rates ranging from 0.5 to 200 gallons per minute (1.9 to 757 liters/minute).

On 6.12,2010, BP just bought 32 machines for oil water separation in the Gulf of Mexico. Kevin’s vision finally rewards him. This technology also brings a hope of oil clean in the Gulf of Mexico.

Here is another interpretation of this story. Costner made a bad business decision 15 years ago, but he is rich enough to keep the company alive. And now his company is lucky enough to make money from the biggest disaster fo the nature in the human being’s history. According to information from Wikipedia, the machines developed by Costner’s company were of little commercial interest until the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. Fortune for person, but misfortune for the earth.

Yes, you are right. The real thing is that it is hard for us to keep the business going for years, if it is not very profitable. You have to have some motivation to get you moving forward.
