By the official release of iPad on April 2010,on the first day, 9,000 iPads have been sold. It is estimated 4 million iPads are going to be sold in 2010. Of course, everybody knows iPad has many killing features, multiple touch, easy navigation, slick looking, light weight. But beside of all these apparent features, there is one more very small thing, which Apple has done well for years. It is the Apple product branding strategy, a very simple and effective strategy.

If you send Email from iPad, it will automatically generate a signature: ” sent from my iPad”. Is it special? Yes!

We all check E-mail every day, very often every half an hour. Email is still the most popular communication tool for us.  The Email with the “Sent from my iPad” signature reminds the Email recipient that the sender is using iPad.

This is a simple and elegant branding strategy.

    Send from my iPod. Sure,every morning I use my iPod touch to check emails and surf Internet. The nice thing for iPod is that you do not have to turn on your computer to start your regular activities. Some peope tease ipad as bigger size ipod. But as long as it satisfy needs of consumers,ipad has its market.

      This is a smart strategy. Of course, other companies like blackberry also use it. But i have not got any chance to receive an email from an android phone, saying sent from my android/*. May there is a better strategy to explore.
