Simple HTML5 Video

July 13, 2010

In case you do not want to use the HTML5 video frameworks, as we covered before. You can use the HTML5 video tag, like the simplest one shown in W3schools.  There is a better example from Mozilla.

<video src=”movie.ogg” controls=”controls”>
your browser does not support the video tag

The requriement is you have declare your HTML file in in HTML5 format by

<!DOCTYPE html> —- Must declare HTML5 with this!
<meta charset=”utf-8″>
<title>HTML5 Video Demo</title>
<style type=”text/css” media=”screen”>@import “css/screen.css”;</style>

Here are two works examples.

(1) Html5media works for all popular browsers, Chrome, Firefox, IE.

(2) Shapeshed It provides a workable solution for most of popular browsers.

(3) Double video test Not as clean as the previous two, but it offers some cool demos.
