Meego + Genivi + Car

Meego, the Linux based open source mobile platform, evolved from maemo and moblin, was just selected by Genivi as the car In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) platform, which includes entertainment and navigation systems. Meego has V1.01 release. It supports netbook, handset, in-vehicle, connected TV, and media phone (mainly Nokia high-end smart phone).

Genivi also has numerous founding members such as BMW group, intel, GM, ARM etc. This means in the future, some cars will be equipped with Linux powered entertainment system.
