August 7, 2010

A chance to win $10, 000

One thing still haunting over Linux community developers is the difficulty involved in building the appliance for Linux. Making a Linux based appliance involves a lot more manual labor work compared with making a Windows appliance.

OpenSUSE recently launched SUSEStudio. With SUSEStudio, it is easier than before to make a web, KDE, CMS applications running on Linux platform. SUSEStudio is possibly the first ambitious effort to make Linux appliance easy and fun. The basic idea of  SUSEStudio is similar to Microsoft visual studio. Compared with MS Visual studio, SUSEStudio is more open source oriented project.

Plus if you can make a decent appliance based on SUSEStudio, you also can win $10,000.
